With supplies in hand, I return to my room at the hotel to prepare them, the only delay being to pick up dinner for myself and Arjac.

After much rummaging about you manage to collect the materials you need for your devices. The most intriguing piece is an antique door buzzer which was on sale from a discount bin that generates a grating noise at the slightest provocation.

<Rough idea was a form of pressure plate or raised platform to place under the window sill that when stepped on/broken will set off a buzzer, as well as something for the door that is disarmable if you know its there, IE has enough give that you can open it and reach through the crack in the door to untie it. Essentially going for a buzzer on the window and door just loud enough to wake Arjac and I if we are sleeping.>

After wandering the streets of New York for about an hour you manage to locate a hardware store. It's situated on a street corner, and due to zoning and space requirements appears to be much smaller than the equivalent of a Lowes or Home Depot outside the city would be. You would likely be able to locate any common materials and tools, but heavy equipment or large supplies are likely to be unavailable due to the lack of floor space in their store and the demand for such items among their customers.
A small sign saying "Home Goods and Supplies" printed on a plastic sheet is nailed into the brick above the front street corners of the building. There are two open doors leading to the street, with black wrought iron bars reinforcing their plexiglass front, serving as both security and decoration. As it is the middle of a weekday in the city, the store has few customers, but those who are shopping appear to be contractors and the odd apartment design hipster looking to spruce their place up. Just inside is a shop clerk standing at the front register, manning the paint mixing station as an impatient man stands over her.

Seems like the most vulnerable place is the window. Patting Arjac on the head, "I'll be back soon, going to pick up a few surprises" and head to the nearest hardware store to pick up supplies

The room is fairly small, but not cramped. A single twin size bed is shoved up against the wall near a window in the back left corner of the room as you pass through the doorway. A moderate size dresser commands the presence of the entrance across from the bed, while a small bedside table and lamp interrupt the direct trip to the bathroom and closet doors directly to your right. There is ceiling fixture with a yellowed shade covering four light bulbs, of which three appear to be working. As far as security concerns, the room is on the ground floor and has bars on the window to prevent break ins. This leaves the only viable entrance and exit from the room to be the front entrance, which is easily defensible with cover from behind the dresser, should events require it. The bathroom has no windows, and no entrance aside from the bedroom.

The large man behind the desk when you walk in grumbles to himself and fails to get out of his chair. After awkwardly sitting half in and half out of his chair for a few seconds he sidles back in and drags his chair to the front desk. He rummages below the counter for a few moments, then tosses a small key ring on top of the counter. The key ring has a small green plastic clover on it, with the paint worn off the engraved number 1. He points to his left down the main hallway, then returns to his show.

You slowly meander through the city blocks, taking in the sights of New York. The streets bustle with people, as the area is the boundary between the business and residential areas of the borough. People are stopping for lunch, meeting for business, and relaxing around noon as most businesses have let out for their lunch break. You are sure to stop at every statue, nameplate, and sign you can find on your way, but the dizzying array and amount of advertising and writing that clutters the streets is overwhelming. You read everything you pass, but see no mention of a Hanson aside from a broadway play advertisement including a Jake Hanson as a minor role on the billing.

I purchase a hotdog and a soda, and with food in hand, begin to explore the surrounding area, looking for monuments, museums, or any other locations that may have bronze plaques as part of an outdoor display.

It's now the late morning, and lunchtime is nearing. The food stands across the streets of New York are beginning to sell the first of their wares, and the smells of cooking hot dogs and pretzels are starting to waft through the streets. There is only one food stand in the vicinity of the hotel, as the vendors tend to favor the tourist trap areas over regular inhabitants of the city. The vendor is a gruff man, but he offers a variety of drinks, hot dogs, pretzels, and falafel.

I realize that I haven't eaten anything since before my flight, so I put my book away in my room, then leave the hotel, and try and find a food stand.

You enter your room after a short walk back to the hotel. It is furnished in an identical manner to the one that was already described in this thread to be Huico's room, but the primary exception is that unlike the other members of the party who have rooms adjacent to each other on the main floor of the hotel, your room is at the end of the hall on the first floor on the far left side. You do have access to the fire escape from the window of your room.

While I was awaiting my bags in La Gaurdia, I was approached by a young Scion with the gift of prophesy going by the name of Cassy. She claims to have foreseen a high amount of deaths in the New York area in the immediate future. She claims that she sees five people, me inclusive, that can avert this. She wants us to look for someone or something named Hanson.
