I Wish I Could Tell You

[Isaac Erasmus]

Being the perfect gentleman that he is, Isaac offers to take her books for her and walk her to her class. "Here, let me help you with those. Please, I insist" he replies, still smiling warmly.

"I read something in the paper today that caught my eye, truly a tragic occurence. It would seem that a professor from the linguistics department met a most gruesome fate. Part of my responsibilities are to take care of those who have passed on, so to say.I try to learn as much as I can about how these kinds of events play out, to see what my clients, if you will, may go through before finding their way to me. I find that it's helpful in allowing me to do my job properly. Unfortunately I can't go into too much detail about my work, you understand I hope. Is there anything you may be able to tell me, such as a name or room number? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated."

[Storyteller]

The grad student shifts the books she's carrying around.

"Um, just a minute. What can I help you with?"

Isaac looks around heart already aching at being away from his hispanic lover for what already feels like eons relieved to not have the big thug breathing down his neck. Nevertheless, the more eyes the better.

Isaac was well aware that the lower down the food chain you are, the looser your lips would get. Unfortunately, thanks to a severe lack of janitorial staff at the moment, Isaac decides to settle for the next best thing.

Walking up to a passing grad student, Isaac throws all levers to full the thought of Huico causing his heart to flutter wildly, picturing the next time he would hold him in his arms, bringing out his warmest, most sincere smile, and just the right twinkle in his eye. "Pardon me Miss, do you have a moment?"

As much as Huico was proud of the brains on this delicate wallflower of a man he was so close to hated to admit it, the only thing worse than a complete stranger asking about the recent murder of a campus faculty was three complete strangers asking about the murder at the same time.

"Fine. Goggles, you're convincing enough as a student. Try to see what rumors are floating around the classrooms, if anyone might have seen anything they shouldn't have or discovered something we should know. Flaskman, go do your talking thing. If you don't come up with something substantive I'll forgive you anyway because, damn it, how could anyone stay mad with you take something substantive from where your heart used to be." And give you mine instead.

Huico then walks off towards the hall way, looking for an empty room with a window.

Hiding from the gruesome sight of the mutilated woman in Huico's broad chest

Casually taking a swig from his flask while in the elevator, Isaac hopes there aren't any cameras around. He decides it's time to begin searching for the room. Surely there will be some sign that will tell them which one it is. Besides, I don't want to risk asking the receptionist about it and getting escorted off campus. We can save that for last.

"Shall we split up to cover more ground and meet back here?"

This always worked for Fred and Daphne in Scooby-Doo. Ohhhh I hope he comes with me and not that goggles kid!!

Huico, Isaac, and Vincent:

Preventing his gaze from straying onto the wonderful sight beside him Huico carefully watches the building as the group moves up towards the fifth floor. Inside the elevator is the only ghost that you find on the way, and she appears to be quite out of her mind. Her head is hanging by only a sinew, flopped over down her back, and she appears to be constantly trying to puzzle out exactly what the room you are standing in is for. Her garb is what you would expect of a roughly early nineteenth century woman. She maintains her position on the floor as the elevator rises, her upside down face a mask of confusion before it disappears through the floor.

The elevator doors open onto the fifth floor. In front of you is a small office with a window panel wall and a receptionist, busily working on filing some paperwork into the cabinets behind her desk. The hall extends to your left and right at equidistant intervals before turning to match the form of the building approximately forty feet in each direction, leaving ample space for the classrooms to occupy the ends and sides of the hall.

You have begun your search for the school paper. How are you trying to locate the building? There do not appear to be any signs listing the direction of their offices or press, although newspaper receptacles are scattered about the campus to distribute their product.

You have hauled your provisions back to the hotel, and set them inside your meager little mini fridge in your room. [[What do you do?]]

Huico ignores the others for a moment, taking in the building. He looks back at Isaac, taking in his rugged, boyish features, drinking in the smooth complexion of his face and his dreamy eyes his compatriots.

"Yes. Let's move on." He begins ascending the stairs to the fifth floor, looking for any ghosts or other dislodged spirits as he moves.

Assuming you're both moving, I follow.
"So, am I the only one here who can't see dead people?"

[Isaac Erasmus]

Firmly grasping Huico's hand, his palm rough from years of hard living but holding mine as gently as he would a newborn baby. Looking into his eyes I knew I'd made the right choice, and together we could do anything. Taking a step forward, Isaac decides it's time to start looking for those that have more in common with Bob than ourselves [cue death senses].

Taking a step forward and turning to address his companions, "Well gents, I think we ought to get right to it, what do you say?".

Isaac gestures to the staircase. "Amigo, you seem to be gifted in the art of tracking. Care to lead the way?"

[Storyteller]

Nobody appears to be paying any undue attention to Conroy as he slips away in search of the mighty printed word. Meanwhile, Huico, Isaac, and Vincent make their way down the road towards the previously indicated building. After a short walk through well worn brick and stone buildings the scenery changes, casting a sharp juxtaposition with newer, modern steel and glass facades occupying the edge of the campus. You find yourselves standing at the entryway of the Heyman Center. As usual for the English departments at universities around the globe, it appears as though several departments make their residence in the modest building. A worn down black board with interchangeable white letters declares the Department of Speech and Linguistics to be on the fifth floor. Through the glass doors in front, a few students appear to be milling around, their studies not as demanding at the commencement of the semester. A book club seems to be holding a rather heated discussion in the corner facing the sunlight perfect for illuminating the depths of the forbidden love of the visitors cast through the front left side of the building. Elevators and stairs are clearly visible in the back portion of the atrium which occupies the front half of the first and second levels of the building.

[Isaac Erasmus]

The stern guy looked pretty uninteresting, but the guy with the goggles seemed eager. Still pretty green, doesn't look like he's seen a whole lot in his day. Looks to be the athletic sort.

The stern guy seems to not be too interested in our company. Just as well, it'll make moving around easier. Plus I'd rather get to know these chums one at a time.

Large Hispanic Man who can see ghosts. Cassy. Hanson. Two strange fellows. "Coincidental Meeting". Isaac wasn't dead yet. Isaac decides it's safe to say that these are the others that Cassy contacted. Now the question is: is Cassy telling the truth or tricking us? And are they really friendly?

[Conroy]

'What a dump,' Conroy thinks as the neighborhood turns grimy.

When they reach campus, Conroy ignored the track-star's jabbering and watches. He begins to get the feeling that he's suddenly in a yaoi eroge game.

The smiling bloke seemed into it, but Hispaniola looked stiff. While goggles sprinted off to join them, Conroy surveyed the immediate area for metal detectors. He was carrying a concealed weapon onto a collage campus after all. Odin may have his fingers in Homeland Security, but it would be a huge waste of time to be detained. After plotting a prisonless path, Conroy makes to blend in to the campus crowd, hunting for a campus newspaper.

[Vincent Faustino]

With no response from Conroy, I decided to wait and see what would happen between Huico and his 'friend'. Thankfully, it didn't go as I expected and it looks like they're cooperating. Maybe I was right about him being on our side. Well, I'm not gonna find out by just standing here.

I return the pair's looks with a slight wave and smile, and begin to make my way over to them.

[Isaac Erasmus]

It---It's not what you think!!! I can explain!!"Well, I inherited this watch, and he just kinda came along with it. We seem to have at least one common interest in skirt chasing, so I haven't gotten rid of it. Always nice to have a second set of eyes looking out for talent. You're the first person I've ever met that could see him though."

Isaac turns to see who Huico's looking at. Just when I thought we were having a moment too! Now would be a bad time to get caught by surprise.

[Crewer]

Huico moves closer, falling in beside the man. "You want to talk? Tell my why you're being accompanied by a dead man with awful choices in clothing and a bad case of curiosity." He's ruining our special time... that meanie...

Speaking of company... Huico quickly glances behind him to see if the coffee shop party's been following this special moment between two star-crossed souls this whole escapade.

[Isaac Erasmus]

Well that was helpful.

*gasp* you really do care!!
Isaac beckons for Huico to come with him and begins walking towards the building, but being sure to keep enough distance between them, so as not to get close enough for another arm lock.

Isaac tells Huico what he's been told by the student. "While it's not the most helpful information I've ever gotten, I think our own abilities should help well enough, should they not? And please, walk with me. I'd like the chance to talk to you some. It's very clear that we have some very special things in common. I'm sure you've noticed as well. Maybe even......Soulmates*blush*"

[Crewer]

As the student walks away Huico resumes his eagle gaze on the man. I-it's not like I like you or anything. I just can't put my finger on him. "I'm here on business. Messy business. The more you know I tell you, the more I'd feel crushed responsible if things go south. Unfortunately, you're already in too deep to back out now. *wink* Walk. I'll be right behind you."

[Storyteller]

The student, decked in a modest pair of jeans and a light jacket, readjusts his backpack as he pauses for a moment to think.

"Um, I think my girlfriend mentioned that she took some sort of language course over at the Heyman center. Keep heading down this road, and it's your last right before you hit the park," he says, before rushing off towards the library along the same path.

[Isaac Erasmus]

So....kawaii-desu......Isaac takes a deep inhale of the scent of Huico's hair "Sure thing, but I would like to know why someone's threatening to snap my neck. And why you happen to be here right when I arrive. Are you following me?" Isaac asks, knowing he probably won't get any answers right away. He walks off towards the nearest student who looks like they might have a clue, without waiting for an answer from Huico. They can talk on the way.


[[Assuming Huico doesn't interject]]
Reaching the student, Isaac asks "Pardon me, sorry to trouble you. I'm looking for the linguistics building, could you point me in the right direction?"

[Crewer]

Embarassedly twiddling his fingers Huico simply replies with, "I have my reasons. Ask one of these students where to go. Now. Y-you baka ."

[Isaac Erasmus]

Meeting Huico's chiseled visage with a sultry stare Looking Huico dead in the eye, Isaac responds "Ahhhh yes I did hear about that. In fact I was on my way to see for myself, I have a bit of history in medical fields myself. I often like to investigate cases such as this, so as to get a better understanding of what happens to some patients."

Gazing wistfully around the campus, Isaac continues "I was not able to figure out the location before running into you. Let's inquire about it together, shall we?"

After a brief pause, Isaac asks Huico "By the way, if you don't mind me asking: Why are you interested in this professor?"

[Crewer]

"Bueno, para ser honesto, me llega en un momento más bien mórbida. Un conocido mío importante está investigando la muerte prematura de un profesor de lingüística aquí y pensé que podría ayudarle," Huico replies. "Maybe you can help me too, eh, handsome amigo? Take me there."

{"Well, to be honest, I come at a rather morbid time. An important acquaintance of mine is looking into the untimely death of a professor of linguistics here and I thought I might help him."}
