Something isn't right here. A trail of blood, no discernible activity, and an open door? This could only end messily. Huico looks back at the group.

"Goggles, go get the creepy guy. You look the fastest and we might need him. Handsome Bright eyes, we need to find Hanson now. Go upstairs and look for him. I'm going down," as he holds the bloody note and dagger up for a brief moment, then returns them to his pocket, "as I have been instructed. Don't follow me unless you hear me."

Huico then turns to slowly descend the staircase, making as little noise as possible.

No, you meet up with the inside group (Huico and Vincent). There appears to be no one inside the station at this point in time, as far as you can see, aside from them.

[Isaac Erasmus]

[[So there's no-one there?]]

[Storyteller]

Conroy saunters down the street in the most inconspicuous manner possible as he finds a nearby deli to loiter outside of, keeping a hawk eye on the main entrance to the police station.

Meanwhile, inside, Huico and Vincent have just moved into the main foyer of the office when Isaac passes through the door behind them before it manages to "close".

You all see several desks arranged in an open area, with filing cabinets lining the walls. To the back right of the large room are several doors marked as offices. The far wall of the room has a secured door with a key card lock which would seem to lead to the holding cells. On the left side of the room is a staircase, leading up and down. There is a sign to the right of the staircase, saying that upstairs is a combination of records and offices, and downstairs is the morgue and evidence.

[[Perception: All of you manage to notice that there is a faint trail of blood leading from the door you just lead through to the descending staircase.]]

[Isaac Erasmus]

Isaac peers into the station, seeing Huico and his goggled friend. Better get in there and do the talking before he lands himself on every wanted list in the city.

[Conroy]

This isn't going to work. There's too many of the team going to the station; it'll seem suspicious. Conroy glances in the door as he passes by the station, but continues down the road. He instead looks for a place nearby he can loiter outside. He's not going to be explicitly watching the place, just sticking around in case he's needed.

[Crewer]

Damn, Huico thinks, as the police lady passes him by. Isn't this just convenient. Huico moves forward, brushing aside the jimmied door, looking back at the kid who just came in behind him.

"Let's go."

Huico moves down the hallway, using his spear as a makeshift walking stick, looking for signs to take him to Hanson (or at least, the detective desks.) Should he pass by the route to the holding cells, he'll take the opportunity to take note of any security precautions that might prove cumbersome to a future retrieval mission.

[Storyteller]

[[Waiting on other people to post replies for what they are doing before proceeding. Huico gets a response if he wants one, since he went in first. People still on the street have things they can choose to do if they want to. If I see no responses within a day I'm going to go with the last post.]]

Huico pulled that thing out of the tree like he was expecting it to be there. I wonder what he's up to with that.
I continue into the police station with a quick " 'scuse me," to the officer as she hurries past me.
[[Sorry, I don't actually have an internet connection in the dorm, and all of the options here are Clear, which is awful, or mobile hotspot devices, none of which have unlimited data, and are all extremely expensive.]]

[Storyteller]

Huico approaches the New York Police Department's thirteenth district office. As he does so, Conroy attempts to look natural and not text with his phone. Vincent..... watches? [[People need to post.]] Isaac rounds the corner of the building on the other end of the street just in time to see Huico entering the police station.

Huico:
You see that you are in the waiting area of the police station. There is a plexiglass window in the front of the desk to prevent people from shooting the duty officer, who is currently opening the door to the side of the desk. You can see from the look on her harried face that she is rushing off to some dire event that urgently requires her attention. As she rushes past you she says that she will be right back, if you would just wait for a moment.

As she exits the station (which everyone on the street can see), you notice that the door which is supposed to self lock once it has been opened leading back further into the police station has been tampered with. It almost looks like the entirety of the locking pin (1/2 inch thick metal) was bent out of place.

Huico continues his approach to the police station. As he passes the tree, he calmly removes the dagger and places it on his person. He then peers at the note, reading it with an eagerness not unlike a child reading a birthday card from their estranged uncle. {if you might PM me the details, I'd appreesh} Mi Dios. As he does this his legs take him to the front door of the offices of the 13th Precinct of the New York Police Department. They say thirteen is an unlucky number in America. Let's see if it's true.

[Conroy]

What a motherfucking joke. Next week the shop should be out of business. Whatever, it's cheap and works fine. Conroy notices Huico across the street. It doesn't seem Huico notices him. He pulls out his phone and pretends to fiddle with it, watching where Huico goes.

Well, pretending would be easier if he didn't get spam mail in the few minutes since he last checked his phone. He keeps Huico in his peripherals though. The man's headband is unsettling. You'd rather it not sneak up on you.

[Storyteller]

And so, after what seems like ages, the myriad members of the ragtag group of scions make their way to the police station individually.

Huico:
As you round the corner the precinct is on, you notice that there is something off about the tree in front of the last house of the street. There appears to be something stuck to its trunk.

Conroy:
After a brief stop at a store that proudly proclaims that it is going out of business and everything electronic inside is on sale, you pick up a basic voice recorder that works with internal memory and connects to a USB out. The man at the counter insists that if there is anything wrong with it, you should come and see him next week. You appear on the other side of the street from Huico just a minute after he does.

Vincent:
You move through the crowds of the city streets fairly easily, with your experiences in crowded cities. You are fairly sure that your throwing knives are well hidden on your person as you too appear across the street from Huico at approximately the same time as Conroy.

Isaac:
You will be arriving a few minutes later due to your detour.

Dimas:
You will be referenced again when we get to where you are. Hold on tight.

[[Ok, a few housekeeping things. We have the final player, Matt, who will be playing Dimas. I ask that you not read his thread at this point in time. Additionally, I just want to run over a few things mechanically. For any knowledge or perception skills I am going to treat them in two ways: active and passive. Active is when you ask me to make the roll, and we do it in the forum and I provide you with any additional information based off of that. Passive is when I will read your sheet and make rolls for you as I think are necessary, usually for things like perception. This is done to prevent things like "Roll spot. You got a 2? You see nothing out of the ordinary," from popping up. This lets me tailor the details as necessary. If you get additional information from a passive roll, it will be sent to you in a private message, so look for those under your profile once we start up again! You are free to share the information if you want to with other players in game. We will be starting up the main thread again once I settle the brief prologue for Matt, which I do not expect to take more than one or two days.]]

[[I have been informed that Ben no longer remembers what he even wanted to ask Tai, and that combined with my inability to look up where my own npcs work has led me to delete this post. The next post will be at the police station. I'm waiting on someone who I believe will be joining the game to roll a character before we move on. Going to try to get him ready by the weekend.]]

I return to the hotel and head to my room to put my sketchpad away. I check that my throwing knives are secure where they're hidden [[By the way, do I have to specify where things are hidden on my person?]], then leave for the precinct.

Bob replies in the affirmative to your first question, but does not expound on his answer.

I know what Huico is doing, I know what Conroy is doing. What actions are Isaac and Vincent taking? Aedan is being DMPC'd at the moment, and his actions are private unless someone cares to look in on him.

[Isaac Erasmus]

Isaac chuckles. Bob never ceases to amuse. "Atta boy" replies Isaac. "Any cuties in there?"

"You missed a crazy interesting cordoned off office while you were in there."

[Conroy]

Conroy memorizes the details of a recent case and prepares to go. He leaves his firearms behind, pulls out a basic press pass and goes shopping for a voice recorder.

[Storyteller]

Bob replies with a beaming smile; "Well, Isaac, you see that class was discussing a literary technique that is not often used, and has sadly fallen out of favor with anything other than penny novels these days. I thought it deserved more credit than that, and so did that professor, as he was teaching his class with some rather vivid examples, so I thought I might stay a while and listen."

On his way to the bookstore, Isaac mulls over the days events. The office had no evidence of crime, so why was it cordoned off? Standard procedure? Or some special interest from Hanson? "How was the class Bob?"
